Introduction
Since the early 2000, the Institute of Cost Management, Nigeria had promoted the concept of taking the task of managing cost beyond the direct finance function to include every one in the corporate value chain for the effective and efficient management of Cost.
According to the late Prof. Anthony Hopwood, Said Business School, Oxford University, the issue of Cost has become a strategic agenda that must not be left only in the hands the corporate bean counters. He further opined that it must become an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary function.
The Chartered Institute of Cost Managers of Nigeria (CICMN) in collaboration with its international partners, Technological University of the Americas (TUA) an Affiliate of European International University (EIU)and Global Learning Development UK convocated an inaugural INTERNATIONAL ROUNDTABLE ON MULTIDISCIPLINARY COST MANAGEMENT PRACTICE to discuss the global best practice and strategies as the building block for the development and implementation of the multidisciplinary cost management practice.
Participants will be issued with a certificate Diploma in Multidisciplinary Cost Management and Innovative Leadership.
Objectives of the Roundtable
At the end of the programme, participants will be able:
- Show understanding of the global view of the multidisciplinary cost management practice
- Define the various concepts of the practice
- Evaluate the steps in Multidisciplinary Cost Management
- Develop the skill, knowledge and attitude of the practice
- Impact on their organization performance measured in terms of Cost effectiveness and efficiency

Cost Managers, Cost Controllers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Human Resources Managers etc in the Oil and Gas industry, Maritime Industry, Financial Institutions, Nigerian Armed Forces and
other Agencies of Government.
Funding
The Roundtable will be jointly funded by the Chartered Institute of Cost Managers of Nigeria (CICMN) 50% and the participants’ organization 50% of the programme participation fee. Participation fee: $ 7,000 per participant covering materials, certificate of participation, Tea break/Lunch and bags.
